ABOUT THE TASK

The Art & Activism team is looking for a team leader to lead, strengthen, and facilitate our committed volunteer community and support a positive working culture within our volunteer curator group and the rest of the RF team.

As a team leader, you will be responsible for creating the best conditions for our volunteer curators to develop and deliver a high-quality program in art and activism. You will play a central role in mediating expectations, supporting RF processes, and ensuring a strong sense of community and collaboration across the team.

The role is a shared team leader role, and you will share the leadership responsibilities with team leader Klaus Berdiin Jensen. Together with Klaus and our Head of Art & Activism, you will help ensure volunteer engagement and an Art & Activism program that both inspires and fosters creativity and activism at the festival.

Your tasks will include:

  • Facilitating a strong, safe, and engaged volunteer community.
  • Supporting curators in developing a diverse, interdisciplinary program.
  • Collaborating closely with team leader Klaus Berdiin Jensen on leadership tasks.
  • Actively participating in the planning of Art & Activism meetings throughout the year, supported by the Program Coordinator, Head of Art & Activism, and Art Production Manager.
  • Ensuring that the program reflects and supports the festival's overall strategy and curatorial framework.
  • Conducting post-festival evaluations with the curators.

ABOUT YOU

You have strong leadership skills and experience in managing volunteers. You are passionate about volunteerism and have an interest in art and activism. Additionally, you thrive in a role focused on dialogue and collaboration, and you are organized and able to support the development of effective workflows and processes. We are particularly interested in candidates with previous experience in projects or leadership of volunteer teams in connection with Roskilde Festival, but this is not a requirement.

ABOUT US

Team Art & Activism is a dedicated volunteer curatorial community consisting of approximately 20 passionate individuals who develop, plan, and deliver the Art & Activism program at Roskilde Festival together in collaboration with various artists, institutions, and organizations. We are a professional, creative, and collaborative workspace that spans across artistic genres. We work for young communities, and through our Art & Activism program, we aim to inspire young people to engage through art.

WE OFFER

A unique and dedicated working community where, as a team leader, you will have the opportunity to gain leadership experience and volunteer development in the nonprofit and cultural sectors. You will play a central role in leading and supporting a community that drives change in the world through art and activism. Moreover, you will gain unique insight into how we develop, plan, and deliver our Art & Activism program at Roskilde Festival.
