JOANA ÖHLSCHLÄGERDE

Experience a different kind of cardio performance that exercises the wild and sensitive heart as a team sport

In a time when it can feel hard to move at all, Heart To Ride insists on movement – as a way of training presence, sensitivity, and community as a muscle.

In this performance, created by dancer and choreographer Joana Öhlschläger, a group of dancers come together in a different kind of cardio workout. They explore how to fuel and contaminate each other’s energy through sudden shifts, intimate closeness, and wide distances.

Let yourself be swept up by the team spirit as Heart To Ride insists on a shared movement away from discouragement.

Joana Öhlschläger is a German dancer and choreographer based in Denmark. Through various collaborations, she creates sensuous and surprising universes that—through humor, twisted clichés, and recognition—invite the audience into places of imagination and feeling.

The performance is presented in collaboration with Aaben Dans, where Joana Öhlschläger is the selected artist in the one‑year development program Aabent Rum. Heart To Ride is developed within Aabent Rum and premieres at Roskilde Festival.

The performance is created with composer Simon Richardt, set designer Maya Livingstone, light designer Magnus Hjortlund, dramaturge Quim Bigas and dancers Alba Sánchez Gel, Carl Giacomello, Caroline Simon, Diana Gaálová, Ella Östlund, Gustav Emil Møller, Hilda Holm, Inaja Katharina Skands, Julia Bøgelund, Julia Tejera, Karin Bergman, Léana Licius, Madee Cole, Mariana Antunes Graça, Miranda Josephine Riviere, Naia Sif Adam, Nikki Samartzi, Sophia Mage, Søren Linding Urup, Þórunn Guðmundsdóttir, Vilda Palmkvist and Zé Couteiro.
