Albertslund Terror Korps DK

SATURDAY 4 JULY

A cinematic rave of raw breakbeats, bhangra and bizarre cultural mash-ups

  • Saturday 4 July

Albertslund Terror Korps is back! And with their outlandish audiovisual mix of breakcore, bhangra, gabber and bizarre fragments og Danish schlager pop, visual artist Halfdan Pisket and musician DJ HVAD are ready to unleash a sensory bombardment on Roskilde Festival.

Denmark had never seen anything like it, when Albertslund Terror Korps emerged 20 years ago as part of the experimental electronic label Syg Nok Records. Their visual and musical mash-ups of Danish kitsch, Indian iconography and freajt sci-fi, mixed with hectic breakbeats and harsh electronic noise, were unparalleled at the time – and to this day, Albertslund Terror Korps is still hard-hitting, but also incredibly entertaining.

Halfdan Pisket and HVAD promise a cinematic rave that spins tales from the electroacoustic diaspora as they twist, turn and distort conventional notions of what Danish culture is. And nothing is sacred to the two artists, who invite the audience into a frenetic fever dream born of a shared, fragmented consciousness.

Albertslund Terror Korps are notorious for creating overwhelming live experiences. This was also evident at the Roskilde Festival back in 2008, where the duo gave a legendary concert. When they return this year, you can expect a transformative journey that delves deep into their 20-year catalogue of sound and images, and it's not going to be a quiet affair.
