Get ready for some raw, in-your-face Danish hardcore with explosive live energy and relentless intensity when Smertegrænsens Toldere take to the stage at Roskilde Festival this summer.
Over the course of a decade, the Aarhus-based band has built a reputation as one of the wildest live acts on the Danish music scene, whilst also establishing itself as an institution that has paved the way for the thriving Danish hardcore scene we have witnessed in recent years. Not least through their recurring concert phenomenon Toldermania, which has become almost legendary and is arguably the closest thing Denmark has to a Christmas Eve for the hardcore/punk scene.
Under their own name, Smertegrænsens Toldere have released a long line of raw and uncompromising albums, such as Mere Benzin (“More Gasoline”) from 2024. And gasoline certainly gets poured onto the hardcore fire when the band takes to the stage, always delivering hardcore stripped down to the bone – without filler or unnecessary repetition, but always with energy and substance.
“Biting, brilliant and groovy as hell,” wrote the metal website Devilution in a review of a recent concert by Smertegrænsens Toldere, who are also ready to bare their teeth and dish out some hard-hitting musical blows at this year’s Roskilde Festival. And at a time when Danish hardcore is undergoing a fantastic evolution, it is a real pleasure for us to finally be able to experience these Aarhus-based hardcore heroes at the festival.
