- Saturday 4 July
They emerged as one of the sharpest bands on the Danish new wave scene in the early 1980s. Since then, they have developed into a unique institution in Danish rock with an impressive catalogue of songs that includes sing-along hits, sharp satire and a huge treasure of beloved numbers that reign as Danish classics.
With the same four band members, Steffen Brandt, Hans Erik Lerchenfeld, Sven Gaul and Georg Olesen, TV-2 is something as rare as a band that has stayed together and delivered music for 45 years. And their importance to Danish music can hardly be overestimated, as their DNA of poetic Danish lyrics, catchy synth themes, strong pop hooks and lean new wave guitar is evident in a host of younger Danish artists.
At the same time, they have managed to retain their creative spark and remain open to new trends by collaborating with younger generations of producers and musicians. A shining example of this is the single "Som Om" featuring the young Danish star Mumle.
In 2025, TV-2 released their 20th album, and although it was characteristically ironically titled Som om vi ikke har mere at sige … (As if we have nothing more to say ...), TV-2 still had a lot to say, and the album received excellent reviews in the Danish media. Among others, Danish media POV wrote that the band "delights with its former strength". The album also shows that Steffen Brandt can still inspire with both poetic nerve and political bite.
TV-2 has performed at Roskilde Festival many times throughout their long career. Nevertheless, we have to go back 25 years in history since they last played at the festival. That is why it is a special pleasure to bring the iconic band back with a concert that will feature a wealth of classics, special guests and songs that unite generations of listeners.
