THURSDAY 2 JULY

Generous mash-up of alternative pop, folk and trance shakes up the musical conventions

  • Thursday 2 July

She was recently called "a rare gem" in Danish newspaper Politiken, and it's hard not to agree. Vilde Tuv from Bergen is in a league of her own – an artist who constantly moves between genres, but always stays true to her own vision.

It says a lot about her eclectic style that in her home country of Norway, she has been nominated for a Spellemann Award as best indie artist and won the same award in the electronica category. In the 10 years since she released her debut album D' meg (2016), Vilde Tuv has flouted convention and created a one-woman orchestra, embracing everything from avant-pop and indie to folk music, eurotrance and new age.

This colourful and wide-ranging expression also prevails on her latest album, Truthbomb, from 2025, where folk music and hyperpop clash in songs enriched with rich amounts of recorder and violin. The result is breathtaking! Alongside her own critically acclaimed releases, Vilde Tuv has also earned acclaim for her music for numerous dance performances, plays and films. Among other things, she has made a name for herself with music for the twisted body horror fairy tale The Ugly Stepsister from 2025.

You’re never bored in Vilde Tuv's company. And certainly not on stage, where she has become a true cult figure thanks to her unfiltered performances, where vocals, flutes, synths and drums flow together in an expression with room for both wild expressionism and tenderness. As she herself has said about her latest album: "I want my music to be a place where people can reconnect with their bodies and dare to admit what's true." That invitation is hereby extended to the Roskilde Festival audience, who can expect an extraordinary concert this summer.
