At Headline Flip, we turn that order on its head.
On 5 November at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen, a well-known artist will open the night. We’re keeping their identity under wraps for a little while longer. Then rising acts Masiv, Ayla and Inga Bari take over the stage.
Expect a full-throttle night where music, lighting, visual art and surprises come together as one experience.

Rising: Giving new currents a push
Headline Flip is part of Rising, our year-round initiative to strengthen artists, ideas and communities that signal new directions and open up new possibilities in music and art.
This includes First Days, where new music acts open Roskilde Festival and meet a large, curious audience, and Emerging Artist Area, where young musicians can develop their work, connect with industry professionals and meet one another.
Through RoFH x RF Tour, we work with Roskilde Festival Folk High School to create a tour featuring three artists from that year’s festival. Students help plan, produce and run the concerts across music, art, sound, lighting, communication and event management, while the artists get new stages and the chance to meet new audiences.
Rising also reaches beyond music. We work with The Royal Danish Academy and other educational institutions to create new settings for architecture and art, and we publish concert recordings and documentation of art and activism so that works and performances can live on beyond the festival itself.
With their explosive live shows, Masiv have quickly made their mark on Denmark’s electronic scene. This summer, the trio played acclaimed shows at both Kaleido and Roskilde Festival, where their intense blend of electronic production and live drums came fully to life.
Their music draws on drum’n’bass, techno, hyperpop and dubstep in what they call “Copenhagen Bounce”. With two producers and a drummer on stage, Masiv move between DJ set and conventional live performance with heavy bass, high energy and a distinctly physical live presence.
With just three tracks released so far, Inga Bari have already emerged as one of the most interesting new names on Denmark’s electronic scene. The Aarhus-based producer trio have played both SPOT Festival and Kaleido and attracted attention with a live setup packed with machines, cables and room for improvisation.
Their music moves between house, Nordic techno, dancehall and Caribbean soundsystem culture with an emotional twist. The result is a raw and playful electronic sound that ranges from direct club tracks to more meditative rave passages.
Across four albums, Ayla has established herself as a distinctive presence on the Swedish music scene. The Malmö-based singer and producer has twice received the Årets Rytm award at the Manifest Awards and has spent more than a decade moving freely between different musical expressions.
Her sound brings together dub, reggae and electronica with heavy basslines, melodic lightness and a playful approach to genre. In recent years, she has also taken her music in a darker, more pulsating electronic direction.
For Headline Flip, Pumpehuset will feature a special visual installation created by artist Jasmin Aiche Mahallati.
Mahallati is a graduate of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and works across painting, sculpture and video. Her work explores identity, heritage and human relationships, often moving between a colourful, naïve visual language and more serious stories of belonging, war and displacement.
