Important: Secure your camp before the storm

27.06.2026The festival

Thunderstorms, lightning and strong wind gusts could reach Roskilde Festival shortly and continue throughout the night. Secure your camp now and stay updated in the app.

DMI warns that heavy showers with lightning, thunder and strong wind gusts could reach Roskilde Festival shortly and continue throughout the night.

If the weather develops as forecast, we may need to temporarily close areas or the bridge over the railway for safety reasons.

That's why you should secure your camp now and keep an eye on the app and updates from the festival hosts.

What you should do now

Make sure your tent is securely fastened.

Take down gazebos or lower their height, and make sure all tent pegs are firmly secured. Fold away camping furniture, and clear your camp of rubbish and other loose items that could be blown away by the wind.

Pack electronics, clothing and sleeping bags in waterproof bags or covers to protect them if heavy rain arrives.

Stay up to date in the app and follow updates from the festival hosts.

If thunderstorms reach the festival

There are no completely safe places to shelter from lightning at the festival, but here are some important tips:

Sit down in an open area or inside your tent and make yourself as small as possible. Avoid high ground, and keep well away from trees, masts and other tall objects.

Stay away from metal objects. Move away from tent poles and similar structures. The bridge over the railway may be closed temporarily.

Listen to the festival hosts and follow their instructions. We'll make announcements, provide regular updates and make sure you receive information in good time.

We're monitoring the weather closely and will keep you updated here and in the app.
